This program is designed to meet the needs of Government Assisted Refugees and other refugess and immigrants destined to Calgary and the Prairie Region by providing direct assistance upon first arrival at the Calgary Airport.

Partnering Organizations

CANNYYC works closely with diverse partners to ensure that newcomers are fully supported as they make Canada their new home.
These partnerships include, but are not limited to:

  • The Calgary Airport Authority
  • Various airline carriers
  • The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)
  • Western Hospitality (the White Hatters)
  • Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC)
  • Switch Health
  • Service providing organizations based in the Toronto and Vancouver airports
  • 12 settlement organizations across the prairies who receive Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) through the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP)
  • 44 Privately Sponsored Refugees Sponsorship Agreement Holders in the Prairie Region
  • 17 organizations serving migrant workers funded and subcontracted by CCIS
  • Consulates, including but not limited to Mexico, Philippines, Guatemala, and El Salvador
  • Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Alberta, Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Calgary, and other agencies across PNT who are assisting Ukrainian evacuees
  • The 3 umbrella organizations for the Prairies (AAISA, SAISIA and MANSO), and the rural and urban settlement organizations they represent.
