COMMUNITY AIRPORT NEWCOMERS NETWORK (CANN) YYC - OBJECTIVES

The objectives of CANNYYC are to:

- Ensure that the immediate and essential needs of newcomers arriving at the Calgary International Airport (including Government Assisted Refugees (GARs), Privately Sponsored Refugees (PSRs), Ukrainian evacuees, and other immigrants) are met




- Facilitate newcomers’ access to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)-funded settlement services

CANYYC achieves these objectives by:

- Providing reception and assistance to newcomers arriving at the Calgary International Airport (YYC)
- Providing a general orientation to settlement services in Calgary and Southern Alberta
- Providing referrals to settlement agencies and broader services and organizations, including assistance destining newcomers to other communities within the Prairie Region

Working with the community to settle newcomers and refugees in Canada
